3D rendering done by hand

The goal of this piece was to train rendering by hand in a convincing way. The simple shapes are lit by a singular source of light in the proximity. The first linework was done on paper with some rulers and pencils. I decided to do it in grayscale for simplicity's sake.

This is the final piece with all the values filled in and the cast shadows and bounced light added.
